]]> Andrea Allen - Westford MA Promo DVD Video http://www.ellipsisent.com/Andrea-Allen---Westford-MA-Promo-DVD-Video.asp Last weekend, I had the oppurtunity to work with Andrea Allen. She is a Psychic Medium and was looking to have an event in Westford, Massachusetts filmed. With the footage, we will be putting together a video that will serve as a Promotional DVD for her services. We will edit the video together, create a DVD menu, and author the DVD. We may be involved in the duplication process as well.

For the shoot, we used a single camera with an operator, Andrea had a Lav mic clipped to her and we also used a wireless handheld microphone for audience members.

]]> 5 Dragons Karate DVDs http://www.ellipsisent.com/5-Dragons-Karate-DVDs.asp We recently got together with 5 Dragons Martial Arts Academy in Haverhill, MA to create a DVD series for them. The DVDs series consists of six videos: Introduction, White to Orange & Orange to Blue, Blue to Yellow, Yellow to Green, Green to Brown, and Brown to Black Belt. The DVDs are a complete Belt to Belt curriculum in Kyokushin Karate. They serve as a take home element to their classes.

We filmed the DVDs with Sensei Marc at their Dojo in Haverhill, Massachusetts. We added DVD menus, music, watermark / logo, titles, and transitions. The DVDs were professionally authored as well. Additionally, we created a set designed for Latitude Sports Club.

We worked with Dave throughout the process and ultimately based the video on his concept that revolves around a train platform, studio footage, and other shots mixed in.

We shot the video in different towns in Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts, including Exeter NH, Seabrook NH, and Bradford / Haverhill MA.

]]> Underground Water Tank Pre Construction Video http://www.ellipsisent.com/Underground-Water-Tank-Pre-Construction-Video.asp On Monday, I had the opportunity to shoot a pre-construction video for Testa Corp in Marlborough, MA. The video was in an underground water tank. Essentially, it is a giant concrete building with twenty-eight foot ceilings, no lights, and a maze within. The location is where all of Massachusetts drinking water comes from. To enter the the tank, I had to put on a hardhat, cable harness, and carefully walk down a steel ladder. We lit the video between a combination of flashlights and work lights that were lowered in the small, sparse openings. It was pretty much completely dark the entire time, but we made it work! Overall, it was a very unique experience.

They are a combination retail wine store and wine bar. Right on Elm Street, you have the ability to step in and enjoy wine from their very neat wine dispensing machines. They allow you to select between a taste, half-glass, and full-glass and with their seven machine, you have the ability to chose between 28 different wines.

You can also step in a choose a bottle of your favorite wine or a new bottle that you were just introduced to. Both Dan and Nadine are excellent and the atmosphere is great. Check out the video and if you love wine, swing by Vino Aromas!

]]> Golf Swing Video http://www.ellipsisent.com/Golf-Swing-Video.asp A few days ago I was hired to create a golf swing video. The purpose of the video is to send to college recruiters who aren't able to see all potential golfers in person, especially schools with limited recruiting budgets.

We filmed the footage at the Wentworth By The Sea Country Club in Rye, NH. It is incredibly stunning there. The golf course is right on the water and has amazing views of the Harbor. We filmed multiple angles of shots with the long iron, short iron, mid iron, driver, chips, pitches, bunker shots, and many putts of various distances. The video ended up coming out great!

]]> RD Edmunds Pre Contruction Video in Nashua NH http://www.ellipsisent.com/RD-Edmunds-Pre-Contruction-Video-in-Nashua-NH.asp I was recently hired by RD Edmunds & Sons Construction from Franklin, NH to shoot a couple Pre-Contruction videos in Nashua, NH. I was able to shoot the video within their urgent timeframe and deliver the video on various DVDs.

A pre-construction video is a video that documents all pre-existing damage of an area prior to work being done. It serves as insurance in case a property owner or the city claims damage. ]]> A Week of Focus Groups http://www.ellipsisent.com/A-Week-of-Focus-Groups.asp I recently was the videographer on a string of Focus Groups in the New England area:

First, I drove up to the White Mountains to Gorham, NH for a focus group for Granite State Marketing Research. The drive was beautiful, passing through some great towns, such as Conway and Ossipee and being accompanied by mountains and lakes the entire time. The focus group was a fairly simple setup, with a camera in one room and a 32" TV in another. I recorded to DVD instantly as well as recorded a digital version. This way, the client was able to view live with the CCTV and take home a recording. I was also able to meet their needs and supply them with a digital audio file as well. All in all, everything went over smoothly.

The next day, I went into Boston and was the Focus Group Videographer at the Boston Sheraton for GMG Insights. The setup had a camera in one room which went into a second room. This viewing room used a projector, projector screen, and PA system so that everyone could clearly see and hear the group. It was also recorded to DVD and digitally. I was able to supply the client with both digital audio and video files after the fact.

Then a few days later, I handled the videography for another Granite State Marketing Research focus group, this time at the Portsmouth Sheraton in Portsmouth, NH. It was essentially the same setup as the Gorham groups and once again, everything went without a hitch.

All in all, it was a fun week with some great clients in beautiful locations!

]]> Interview with EMA for Connect Marketing http://www.ellipsisent.com/Interview-with-EMA-for-Connect-Marketing.asp Last week, I got the chance to shoot an interview for Connect Marketing in Portsmouth, NH. It was shot right downtown at the EMA (Enterprise Management Associates) office. The interview was conducted by Steve at Network Instruments.

 

We re-arranged one of the offices, setup the camera, mic, and lights and got a great picture and sound! After the shoot, I went around to some different locations in Portsmouth and got some nice b-roll footage. It helps when you're getting b-roll in a beautiful area! All in all, it was a great shoot. ]]> Westford Swim and Tennis Club http://www.ellipsisent.com/Westford-Swim-and-Tennis-Club.asp I recently got contacted by the Westford Swim & Tennis Club in Westford, MA to create a short promotional video to help them grow and gain new memberships. It is hard to show potential members what the club looks like during the summer, when it is winter. So, they had me go down there for a normal August day and film different pieces throughout the day: the club before it opens, swim practice (different age groups), tennis lessons, lounging around, basketball, and more. I also went a second day, which happened to be the Swim Meet Championship. It was a hectic day as four different Swim Clubs competed in various heats.

All the footage will be condensed down to one short video montage. They will use it as a promotional video online, as well as a looping video that will play in their lobby. Look for it soon!

On Thursday night, we attended the "Best Of" screening for the 2011 New Hampshire 48 Hour Film Project (NH 48HFP) at the Red River Theaters in Concord, NH. Our film, INCUMBENT, had been selected to screen, along with 11 others others.

The classes were taught by David Magone, founder of PranaVayu (PranaVayu.com) and are for the website MyYogaOnline.com.

It was a great experience as everyone was extremely nice and everything went smoothly, without a hitch. We set the camera up at the back of class, mic'd up David and caught the essence of his yoga instruction. ]]> INCUMBENT - 48 Hour Film Project NH 2011 http://www.ellipsisent.com/INCUMBENT---48-Hour-Film-Project-NH-2011.asp A couple weeks ago Ellipsis Entertainment competed in the New Hampshire stop of the 48 Hour Film Project. If you aren't familiar with the 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP), what it is is a filmmaking contest that is also a race against time. It takes place over one weekend and you have 2 days to write, film, edit, and export an entire short film.

Anyways, we gathered a group of friends as well as other interested people and ended up with a cast and crew of 13 (and the help of a few more). Our 48HFP took place from June 10-12, 2011. On the 10th, we randomly drew the genre our film needed to be, which we got 'Superhero'. We also found out that we needed to fit the character "Sharon Cook, politian", a watch, and the line "Be true to your word" into our film.

We spent that Friday night writing until we were about to fall asleep. Then, we awoke early on Saturday, met with everyone, and started shooting. It was a hectic day of production, but extrememly fun. Special thanks to Alana Wentworth for allowing us to shoot in her barn. It rained all day so without it, we would've been doomed.

We edited Saturday night and into Sunday. We JUST got the film in right at the deadline and we could finally relax.

Our film is called "INCUMBENT"

A few days later, on the 15th, the films were screened at Cinemagic in Hooksett, NH. There was some really great films and it was awesome to get all the filmmakers together and see what everyone made. There is a "Best Of" screening at Red River Theaters in Concord, NH on August 4th that hopefully we are selected to be a part of. They will also be giving out a bunch of awards that night. We got our fingers crossed that we take home one or two!

]]> Mock Trial Videography http://www.ellipsisent.com/Mock-Trial-Videography.asp Recently, we were contacted by Granite State Marketing Research to film a Mock Trial in Maine. After finding out their needs, we setup a configuration where a camera was in one room, going to a TV in a second room for a closed circuit TV (CCTV) setup.

As well as showing the video live, we also recorded straight onto DVD with a Hard drive and VHS backup. This way, the client got to leave with the video instantly, but we had two reliable backups and are able to create more copies, both video and audio.

We have been going on various shoots, creating bio / interview style videos. Mainly, we have been focuses on creating videos for Patch.com, a hyper-local community website that have various sub-sites for different cities. We created videos for the New Hampshire towns of Exeter, Hampton-North Hampton, Merrimack, and Salem. You can see the videos on those individual sites.

We also were privileged enough to do a business profile video for Shubie's, a store located in Marblehead, MA. The video is designed for the Shubie's page within the Marblehead Patch site. He is their Appliance Supplier and had great things to say about him, so I was excited to get a chance to work with him.

When I first met with him, I was excited to see his Showroom is set in an old mill building, with brick walls and exposed beams. It gives a very laid-back, classic feel for their products, which is the same style of video we went with.

]]> The Drinkery Showroom Videos http://www.ellipsisent.com/The-Drinkery-Showroom-Videos.asp I got the honor of shooting video for The Drinkery in Londonderry, NH last night. It is a specialty & local shop that sells beer, wine, and snacks and has the most wonderful owners (Andy & Alana).

Their showroom is located in the basement of the Tupelo Music Hall, forming a great relationship with them, allowing patrons to come down, purchase some drink and bring it back upstairs for the show. Of course, anyone and everyone can come in from the street and shop as well. Along with shooting their vast amount of beers (found in the famous "Beer Cave"), various racks of wine, and shelves of goodies, there was also a Shipyard Beer tasting going on. I got to film Jim from Shipyard talk about the various styles of beer he was allowing people to taste, as well as get some great shots of the tasting setup.

With the help of Andy Day (one of the owners), I interviewed various customers and got to ask them questions such as what brought them to the drinkery, what their favorite beer was, or others. We got some great answers whcih you'll get to see in the upcoming videos.

]]> Inspiration I Do Web Commercial http://www.ellipsisent.com/Inspiration-I-Do-Web-Commercial.asp Ellipsis Entertainment is proud to display the new Web Commercial for Inspiration I Do. They create custom wedding print packages as well as other print items. We were lucky enough to get to work with the Kellie at IID throughout the process and really determine what she was looking for. Knowing the points she spefically wanted to cover, we were able to write a script and storyline that was informative, creative, and had the oppurtunity to leave viewers wanting to learn more.

We cast Laura Pizzuti and Leslie Dysart for the two roles at the beginning of the video and couldn't have been happier with the selection. The were great to work with, friendly and upbeat, and determined to make sure we got exactly what we were looking for. Two great actresses that we can't thank enough for the wonderful job they did!

We were contacted by Rita Tedder with specific needs that their company needed to meet. The objective was to setup a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Setup for viewing various focus groups.

We setup two rooms for the focus group, the room with the correspondents and another for viewing. Along with our camera connecting to a TV in a separate room for instant viewing, it also recorded instantly for DVD, onto a hard drive, as well as onto a VHS tape. Immediate DVDs were requested so the client could begin reviewing as soon as possible and the other two sources served as a way to export any media down the road as well as a backup.

It was a three day project in Western New Hampshire and everything went without a hitch! I want to thank Rita Tedder with Granite State Marketing Research in helping everything go smoothly. It was great being able to communicate so effectively with our client to get every detail to their needs.
